【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=진천군은 포석 조명희문학관 세미나실에서 제15회 인구의 날을 기념하여 공직자 100여 명을 대상으로 지속 가능한 인구 성장을 위한 인구·저출산 역량 강화 교육을 전격 실시했다.
이번 교육은 인구 감소와 지방 소멸이라는 시대적 과제에 직면한 상황에서, 급격한 인구 구조 변화가 경제, 사회, 문화 전반에 미치는 중대한 영향을 깊이 이해하고 관련 정책을 수립하는 공직자들의 주체적인 대응 능력을 기르기 위해 마련됐다. 본 교육에 앞서 참석한 공직자들은 민선 9기 출범에 발맞추어 국가적 위기인 인구 및 저출산 문제에 선제적이고 적극적으로 대응하겠다는 결연한 의지를 담아 다 함께 퍼포먼스를 진행해 눈길을 끌었다.
이날 교육은 인구 구조와 저출산 분야로 나누어 총 2부로 심도 있게 진행됐다. 1부에서는 인구 구조의 급격한 변화에 따른 공무원의 역할과 현장에 적용할 수 있는 실효성 있는 대응 방안을 구체적으로 모색했다. 이어진 2부에서는 대한민국 저출산 현상의 구조적 원인을 날카롭게 분석하고, 이를 극복하기 위해 공직자가 지녀야 할 바람직한 태도와 미래지향적 가치관에 대한 강의가 펼쳐졌다.
진천군 인구정책 관계자는 진천군이 19년 연속 인구 증가와 2년 연속 도내 합계출산율 1위라는 독보적인 성과를 거두었지만, 점차 심화되는 고령화 등 당면한 현실을 고려할 때 결코 안주할 상황은 아니라고 진단했다. 이어 행정의 최일선에 있는 공직자부터 인구 위기를 명확히 인식하고 장기적인 관점에서 진천만의 차별화된 전략적 인구 정책을 힘있게 펼쳐나가겠다고 강조했다.
