이번 행사는 바르게살기운동 충청북도협의회가 추진하는 다문화가족 친정 부모 초청 사업의 일환으로 진행됐다. 해당 사업은 도내 베트남 다문화가정 9가구의 친정 부모를 초청해 자녀 주거지 방문, 충북 지역 문화관광 체험, 지자체 관계자 간담회 등 다채로운 프로그램을 제공한다.
이날 열린 간담회에서는 오랜 기간 떨어져 지내다 만난 다문화가족과 친정 부모들을 격려하고, 한국 사회 적응 과정과 가족 간 유대 강화를 응원하는 교류가 이어졌다.
제천시 관계자는 이번 초청 사업이 지역사회에 정착한 다문화가족들에게 큰 힘이 되기를 바라며, 서로의 문화를 이해하고 어우러지는 다문화 공동체를 조성하는 계기가 되길 기대한다고 밝혔다.
