Jecheon Cultural Foundation Concludes 'Jecheon One Cut' Photography Class Program

The special challenge undertaken by Jecheon citizens, who have been documenting the region's unique beauty and everyday life through photography, has borne fruit.

The Jecheon Cultural Foundation announced that the 'Jecheon One Cut, Photography Class,' a media education program for citizens held at the Jecheon Video Media Center 'Bom,' successfully concluded its eight-week journey on the 4th amidst enthusiastic participation from the students.

The course began on April 16 and ran weekly with a diverse curriculum. It was designed to help local residents interested in photography understand the basic mechanisms of a camera and, furthermore, to proactively record the region's colorful landscapes and stories through visual media.

Through indoor theory classes, students systematically learned professional shooting techniques, ranging from how to achieve perfect composition and set appropriate exposure values to utilizing natural light and AI-powered lighting. Afterward, the students honed their practical skills by personally venturing out to locations such as the Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex to capture Jecheon’s magnificent natural landscapes and precious cultural resources through their own unique perspectives.

The photographic works, imbued with the sweat of the students who diligently completed the training course, will be unveiled to the general public this coming autumn. The Foundation plans to widely publicize the students' achievements by holding a special touring exhibition at major cultural facilities and public spaces within the city from October to November.

An official from the Jecheon Cultural Foundation stated, “This year’s program was more meaningful and enriching than ever, as both the official students and the auditing students demonstrated a burning passion for learning.” The official added, “We hope that the students’ achievements, capturing the beauty of Jecheon with affectionate eyes, will serve as an opportunity to communicate with more citizens and share deep empathy through the upcoming touring exhibition.”
