Jeonnam Office of Education to Host ‘2027 Academic Year College Admissions Information Fair’ on October 10–11… 87 Domestic and International Universities Participate

Personalized counseling for students and parents to be conducted at Suncheon Bay Eco-Culture Education Center - Training to enhance teachers’ expertise in college guidance to be held concurrently… Safety management to be fully ensured - Discussion on ‘joint hosting of college admissions fair’ to strengthen educational cooperation in preparation for the integration of Gwangju and Jeonnam

(Muan = Break News) Reporter Lee Hak-su = The Jeollanam-do Office of Education will host the ‘2027 Academic Year College Admissions Information Fair’ for two days from October 10 to 11 at the Suncheon Bay Eco-Culture Education Center.

This fair was organized to provide accurate and highly reliable college admissions information to students and parents in the province preparing for the 2027 academic year entrance exams, and to enhance the expertise of teachers in school guidance.

A total of 87 universities, including major domestic universities and Troy University in the United States, will participate in this fair to provide guidance on university-specific admission procedures and conduct one-on-one personalized counseling. Participating students and parents are expected to gain practical information to respond to the rapidly changing college admissions environment by confirming the characteristics of each university's admissions process and application strategies through face-to-face consultations with university admissions officials.

In addition, specialized training for teachers will be conducted to strengthen college admissions counseling capabilities in schools. The plan is to enhance understanding of changes in the 2027 college admissions process, thereby supporting more systematic and professional college admissions support in schools in the future.

Given that this is an event involving a large gathering of people, the Jeonnam Office of Education is making every effort to ensure the safe operation of the fair by establishing a thorough safety management plan and building a close cooperative system with relevant agencies.

In particular, as this fair is being held amidst changes in the educational environment ahead of the integration of Jeonnam and Gwangju, it fully reflects the cooperative efforts of both offices of education to minimize any educational gaps.

The Jeonnam Office of Education is focusing on maintaining the stability of the existing support system to ensure that there are no disruptions to student college admissions support even during the administrative district integration process. At the same time, we are continuously discussing cooperation measures in the field of college admissions support with the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education to minimize the gap in access to educational information between regions and to prevent the emergence of areas underserved by educational information, such as islands and remote regions.

The two offices of education are actively discussing plans to jointly host college admissions information fairs or expand their operation by region. Through this, they intend to significantly improve access to educational information and solidify the cooperative system to ensure that students and parents can receive equitable college admissions support services regardless of their location, even after the integration is completed.
