The Integrated Jeonnam Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the ‘Mutual Growth Job Fair’ at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center starting at 1:00 PM on September 2. This event is being promoted in conjunction with the ‘2026 Jeonnam Gwangju Future Industry Expo’ and is jointly hosted by the Integrated Jeonnam Gwangju Metropolitan City and the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office. In addition, nine related local organizations, including the Gwangju Economic Promotion Mutual Growth Job Foundation and the Jeonnam Small and Medium Enterprise Job & Economic Promotion Agency, are participating as co-organizers to ensure the substance of the event.

This job fair was planned to align with the administrative integration of Jeonnam and Gwangju, aiming to alleviate the severe labor shortage faced by local companies while providing job seekers with practical and comprehensive employment information. A total of 9 specialized halls and 98 booths have been set up on-site to welcome job seekers.

The "Corporate Recruitment Hall," the core of the event, features 47 leading companies representing key manufacturing and service sectors, as well as future core industries in the Jeonnam-Gwangju region. Major participating companies include MPNIX Co., Ltd., Paran Insurance Adjustment Co., Ltd., Kobico Co., Ltd., Sebang Battery Co., Ltd., Oisolution Co., Ltd., and Amkor Technology Korea. Recruitment positions are diverse, ranging from quality control clerks and IT/AI developers to production/technical staff and nurses. The plan is to immediately hire a total of 307 local talents through on-site interviews.

A "Public Institution Mentoring Hall" will also be operated to support job seekers in securing employment at public institutions, which are highly preferred by job seekers. Current employees from major public institutions, including KEPCO KDN, KEPCO KPS, the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), Gwangju Transportation Corporation, Gwangju Environment Corporation, and KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency), will participate directly to provide personalized one-on-one job mentoring. Additionally, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, a "Recruitment Briefing" featuring KEPCO KPS, KISA, and Amkor Technology Korea will be held to share each company's recruitment processes, strategies, and job preparation know-how.

A variety of side events and experiential programs have also been prepared. At the "Job Experience Hall," job seekers can preview future job roles through experiences such as Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), AI digital devices, and Virtual Reality (VR). The "Job Boost Hall," designed to provide practical assistance with interview preparation, offers customized care services including interview makeup, hairstyling, resume photo shoots, personal color analysis, and Career Kit aptitude tests.

Job seekers hoping to find employment can participate by visiting the site on the day of the event without prior registration. Park Mi-ja, Team Leader of the Labor and Employment Policy Team at the Integrated Metropolitan City, stated, “This job fair is the first opportunity since the integration of Jeonnam and Gwangju to bring job seekers and hiring companies together to promote mutual growth.” She added, “Since on-site registration allows for immediate interviews, we hope for the active interest and participation of local job seekers looking for employment.”
