군은 5월 1일부터 5월 29일까지 전국 공연예술단체 및 개인을 대상으로 ‘제3회 옥천전국연극제 작품 공모’를 진행한다고 밝혔다.
이번 연극제의 슬로건은 ‘연극산책’으로, 옥천의 아름다운 자연과 문학적 공간 속에서 예술가와 관객이 함께 거닐며 호흡한다는 의미를 담았다.
공모 분야는 ▲2인극(소형극) ▲인형극 등 2개 분야로, 정극을 비롯해 마임, 오브제극, 마술, 가면무도극 등 현대적이고 실험적인 장르까지 폭넓게 수용한다.
특히 공간의 제약 없이 다양한 환경에 유연하게 적용 가능한 작품을 중점적으로 선정할 계획이다. 선정된 작품은 옥천문화예술회관을 비롯해 생활체육관 특설무대, 인형극장 등 지역 내 실내외 공연장에서 관객들과 만나게 된다.
공모 규모는 소형극 8개 팀, 인형극 8개 팀 등 총 16개 작품이며, 선정된 팀에는 작품당 최대 350만 원(소형극), 200만 원(인형극) 이내의 참가 지원금이 지급된다.
지원 자격은 국내 공연예술단체 또는 개인으로, 최근 1년 이내 활동 실적이 있으면 신청 가능하다. 접수는 5월 1일부터 5월 29일까지 이메일 또는 우편으로 진행된다.
군 관계자는 “지난해 제2회 연극제에는 전국 58개 극단이 참여해 11대 1의 경쟁률을 기록하는 등 옥천이 연극의 새로운 중심지로 주목받고 있다”며 “올해는 ‘연극산책’이라는 테마에 맞춰 관객과 더욱 가까이 호흡하는 수준 높은 공연을 선보일 예정인 만큼, 역량 있는 예술인들의 많은 참여를 기대한다”고 말했다.
한편, 지난해 열린 제2회 옥천전국연극제에서는 ▲하이타이(극단 도시락) ▲옥천여관(동국씨어터랩) ▲강제결혼(21세기스테이지) ▲착한사람 김삼봉(예술공장두레) ▲미스터마담(빅피처스테이지) 등 5개 작품이 공모를 통해 선정됐으며, 전석 매진에 가까운 호응 속에 약 6,000여 명의 관람객이 방문하는 등 지역 대표 예술축제로 자리매김했다.
