【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=영동군이 군청사를 방문하는 주민과 보행약자들의 이동 편의를 높이고 안전한 보행 환경을 조성하기 위한 정비 사업을 전격 완료했다. 영동군은 군청사 이용객들의 접근성 개선을 위해 추진해 온 ‘군청사 접근편의를 위한 보행환경 개선사업’을 25일 준공했다고 밝혔다.
그동안 영동군청사는 경사진 지형과 가파른 계단 등으로 인해 어르신과 장애인 등 보행약자가 방문할 때 이동 불편이 지속해서 제기되어 온 공간이다.
이에 군은 총사업비 약 35억 원을 투입해 21인승 옥외승강기 1대와 길이 55m, 폭 3m 규모의 보행교를 새롭게 구축했으며, 노후한 기존 돌계단과 진입광장을 함께 정비해 안전성을 한층 보강했다.
