Danyang and Jecheon Youth Steering Committees Host 2-Day, 1-Night Marine Experience Exchange Camp
The Youth Steering Committees of the Danyang Youth Culture Center and the Jecheon Youth Culture Center held a youth exchange and marine experience camp from the 28th to the 29th, covering the National Youth Marine Center, Yeongdeok-gun, and Pohang-si.
This camp was planned to expand exchanges between the youth steering committees of the two regions and to strengthen youth capabilities and build a foundation for cooperation by sharing best practices and information on participatory activities from each institution.
After completing safety and gender equality education, the participating youth engaged in a variety of marine activities, including sea exploration and marine science experiences. Through subsequent team-building and recreational activities, youth from different regions naturally formed close ties and strengthened a sense of community.
In addition, as part of a field cultural experience, they visited the Japanese House Street in Guryongpo, Pohang, to learn about local history and culture. Following this, they spent time touring major tourist attractions in Pohang, such as the Hwanho Park Space Walk and Yeongildae Beach.
Through this exchange, both organizations further solidified the network among youth participation groups, and the participants also had the opportunity to develop social skills and leadership through cooperation and challenges.
The opinions of the participating youth were gathered through activity evaluations and satisfaction surveys conducted at the end of the schedule, and based on this, both organizations agreed to jointly explore directions for the future development of exchange activities.
