[김해 소식] 공항소음 피해지역 대학생 장학금 대폭 확대

[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 공항소음 피해지역에 거주하는 대학생 600명에게 1인당 50만원씩 총 3억원의 장학금을 지급한다고 1일 밝혔다.

올해는 주민 수요와 사업 확대 필요성을 반영해 선정 인원을 지난해 300명에서 600명으로 확대했다.

공항소음 피해지역은 2023년 부산지방항공청 고시에 따라 주촌면, 대동면, 불암동, 활천동, 삼안동, 부원동, 회현동, 동상동, 내외동, 칠산서부동 일부 지역으로 지정돼 있으며 약 9만여 명이 거주하고 있다.

시는 2018년 장학금 지원 근거를 마련한 이후 올해까지 총 1,736명에게 8억 6,800만원을 지원해 왔으며, 공항소음 피해에 대한 실질적인 보상과 교육 기회 확대에 기여하고 있다.
