서구는 농성동 서로이음 사회적가치지원센터 1층에 ‘2026년 AI디지털배움터’ 조성을 완료하고, 이달부터 주민 맞춤형 AI디지털 교육을 본격적으로 추진하고 있다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 과학기술정보통신부와 한국지능정보사회진흥원(NIA)이 주관하는 전국 단위 디지털 역량 강화 사업의 일환이다. 현재 광주 내 4곳의 교육 거점이 운영 중인 가운데, 서구는 주민 접근성이 뛰어난 구청사와 지원센터를 활용해 교육과 체험 기능을 결합한 독자적인 모델을 구축했다는 점에서 주목받고 있다.
교육 과정은 실생활에 반드시 필요한 기초 단계부터 전문적인 심화 단계까지 폭넓게 구성됐다. 주요 프로그램으로는 ▲스마트폰 및 키오스크 활용 ▲모바일 금융 서비스 등 생활밀착형 기초 과정과 ▲생성형 AI 활용 ▲디지털 콘텐츠 제작 ▲AI 기반 업무 활용 등 실전형 심화 과정이 운영된다.

교육 효과를 극대화하기 위한 체험 인프라도 강화했다. 서구청사 1층에 마련된 ‘AI디지털체험존’에서는 ▲AI 로봇강아지 ▲돌봄 로봇 ▲AI 바둑 로봇 ▲교육용 코딩 로봇 ▲VR 패키지 등 최신 기술을 누구나 직접 경험해 볼 수 있다. 이를 통해 AI에 대한 막연한 어려움을 해소하고 학습과 체험이 선순환되는 환경을 제공한다.
