광양경자청 직원 50여 명은 지난 5월 29일과 6월 4일 이틀에 걸쳐 광양시 다압면과 하동군 악양면 일대 농가를 방문해 매실 수확과 선별 작업 등을 진행하며 구슬땀을 흘렸다.
이번 봉사활동은 고령화와 인구 감소로 농번기 일손 부족에 시달리는 농촌 현장의 실질적인 부담을 덜어주고, 지역 주민들과 밀착 소통하기 위해 마련됐다.
도움을 받은 광양시 다압면의 한 농민은 “매실 수확철만 되면 일손이 모자라 막막한 심정이었는데, 광양경자청 직원들이 매년 잊지 않고 찾아와 도와준 덕분에 큰 시름을 덜었다”며 고마움을 전했다.
