Taiwan Parliament to vote on the impeachment of President Lai
Taiwanese lawmakers cast their vote on the impeachment of Taiwan President Lai Ching-te, inside the Legislative Yuan building in Taipei, Taiwan, 19 May 2026. An impeachment initiated by the opposition against President Lai Ching-te failed in the Legislature on Tuesday. The vote was 56-50 in favor, but it missed the 76-vote threshold required to advance.
