SK Hynix ranked first as the ‘best large company to work for’ chosen by incumbent employees.

Jobplanet, a corporate information platform operated by Workspear, announced on May 18 that it had selected the ‘best large companies to work for’ based on reviews from former and current employees of domestic large companies registered over the past year, from April last year to last month. It assigned 5 points to each of the 5 categories, including work-life balance, promotion opportunities, salary and welfare, corporate culture, and CEO approval rating, and then simply added them up for a perfect score of 25 points.

As a result, SK Hynix took first place with 20.92 points. Excluding work-life balance (3.97), SK Hynix ranked first in the remaining 4 categories: salary and welfare (4.7), corporate culture (4.18), CEO approval rating (4.05), and promotion opportunities (4.02). There were many reviews stating, “Satisfaction with annual salary and performance bonuses is high” and “Welfare points and partnership benefits are diverse.” Regarding the increase in SK Hynix’s CEO approval rating from 3.95 points in 2024 to 4.05 points last year, Jobplanet analyzed, “It seems that trust in the compensation system and communication methods has increased as a labor-management agreement over the 2025 performance bonus structure was reached.”

Second place was GS Caltex, which received a total score of 20.3 points. GS Caltex received overwhelmingly higher evaluations than other companies in work-life balance (4.73), ranked second in promotion opportunities (3.64) and salary and welfare (4.64), and ranked third in corporate culture (3.64) and CEO approval rating (3.65). There were many evaluations stating, “Work intensity is relatively low” and “Working conditions and atmosphere have become more flexible than before.”

Third place went to Hyundai Motor Company, which received a total score of 19.5 points. Hyundai Motor Company ranked second in work-life balance (4.21), corporate culture (3.72), and CEO approval rating (3.8), and third in promotion opportunities (3.43) and salary and welfare (4.34). There were many reviews stating, “Pay is high compared to work intensity” and “Working hours are kept relatively strictly.”

POSCO Holdings (4th, 17.23), NH Nonghyup Bank (5th, 16.95), Samsung Electronics (6th, 16.18), KT (7th, 14.82), Lotte Chemical (8th, 14.79), LG Electronics (9th, 14.7), and Hanwha (10th, 12.94) followed. Looking at the detailed evaluation of Samsung Electronics, which faced a major boom in the semiconductor industry along with SK Hynix, promotion opportunities (3.4) and corporate culture (3.35) ranked 4th, salary and welfare (3.85) and CEO approval rating (2.25) ranked 6th, and work-life balance (3.33) ranked 7th.
