Samsung Electronics is set to supply a large volume of eco-friendly air-conditioning solutions to major residential complexes in Poland, in step with Europe’s drive toward carbon neutrality.
On May 26, Samsung Electronics announced it will supply high-efficiency heat pump solutions to multi-family residential complexes being built across four cities, including Białystok, Poland. The project is led by Polish energy supplier Ecopark and targets 370 residential buildings to be constructed on a site of approximately 250,000 pyeong.
The products to be supplied include the ‘DVM S2,’ a large-capacity heat pump outdoor unit with enhanced AI capabilities, and the ‘DVM Hydro Unit’ indoor unit. The DVM S2 uses Active AI functionality to learn real-time environmental conditions and deliver optimal heating performance, while the Hydro Unit supplies hot water at temperatures of up to 80°C, replacing fossil fuel boilers. Heat pumps powered by electricity emit lower levels of carbon dioxide and carry reduced energy costs, driving rapidly growing demand across European markets.
Samsung Electronics is going beyond hardware supply by delivering a smart residential environment through ‘SmartThings Pro,’ its AI-based B2B solution. The solution connects residential complexes spread across different cities into a single integrated management system via the internet.
Each complex will adopt a Device Management Solution (DMS) to centrally control heating and hot water facilities, improving overall building energy efficiency. Managers can monitor energy usage across individual buildings in real time through a unified dashboard, and use the AI fault prediction and diagnosis function to identify abnormalities in advance.
Samsung Electronics is expanding its foothold in Europe, building on last month’s Cornwall redevelopment project in the United Kingdom with this latest contract win in Poland.
Im Seong-taek, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ DA Business Division, stated, “We will continue to strengthen our B2B competitiveness by advancing our differentiated heat pump technology and integrated management systems.”
