Pop star Dua Lipa sues Samsung over unauthorized image use

Global pop star Dua Lipa has filed a lawsuit against Samsung Electronics Co., claiming the company used her image without authorization.

According to entertainment media outlet Variety on Saturday, local time, the lawsuit seeks damages of $15 million. Lipa’s legal representatives submitted the complaint to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

In the filing, the attorneys noted the matter as a “massive, continuing, unauthorized commercial exploitation” of the singer’s image and likeness to promote Samsung Electronics products.

The legal team added that Samsung Electronics was “dismissive and callous” toward the singer’s “repeated demands that it cease from infringing on her rights.
