OliX, Galux partner to develop AI-based siRNA delivery platform

OliX Pharmaceuticals said Monday it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Galux to jointly develop a next-generation AI-based siRNA delivery platform.

The agreement will combine Galux’s AI-based delivery design with OliX’s OASIS siRNA platform, with the goal of enabling more precise siRNA therapeutics and supporting future joint research and commercialization.

Based on this partnership, the two companies plan to expand joint research and explore business opportunities.

The siRNA therapeutics field has recently been shifting from a liver (hepatic)-centric focus toward extrahepatic tissues. In response, OliX is advancing its “OliX 2.0” strategy by pursuing research into extrahepatic targets and broadening tissue applications using its proprietary OASIS platform.

OliX said it is expanding collaborations to secure delivery technologies, including joint research with firms developing blood-brain barrier (BBB) shuttle technologies for central nervous system targets.

Galux, an AI-driven drug discovery company, has proprietary protein design capabilities based on its GaluxDesign platform.

Using AI, Galux can design optimized proteins for specific disease targets from scratch, considering multiple therapeutic properties to identify candidates with high developability.

Recently, Galux has been validating its technology through collaborations with major domestic and global pharmaceutical and biotech companies. It has also reported strong performance in AI-based drug design, identifying novel antibodies with high binding affinity and specificity across diverse disease targets.

Lee Dong-ki, CEO of OliX Pharmaceuticals, said, “Galux has unique capabilities in AI-based protein design, and this collaboration is an opportunity to combine both companies’ strengths. By integrating Galux's AI technology with OliX’s siRNA platform, we seek to advance next-generation delivery technologies.”

Seok Cha-ok, CEO of Galux, said, “As AI drug development evolves, combining different technological advantages is as important as individual innovation. Building on Galux’s AI-based precision protein design and OliX’s siRNA platform, we will pursue differentiated therapeutic approaches and expand our collaboration to deliver meaningful development outcomes.”
