Belgium-based Monde Selection honors the mineral water again in 2024’s water category

Nongshim announced on May 11 that its mineral water, Baeksansu, has received the Grand Gold award, the highest honor, for the fourth consecutive year in the water category at the world-renowned ‘Monde Selection’ in Belgium.
Founded in Belgium in 1961, Monde Selection is a global evaluation institute composed of a jury of over 80 experts, including chefs, sommeliers, and scientists. It assesses the quality of consumer products based on strict criteria, presenting awards in four tiers, from Grand Gold to Bronze.
This year, Baeksansu was honored with the Grand Gold award for the fourth consecutive year in the water category, earning the judges’ praise as a ‘Crystal-clear and silky mineral refreshment’.
The secret behind Baeksansu’s recognition for top quality is attributed to its pristine water source and systematic quality control. According to the research team of Dr. Yoon Yoon-yeol of the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources, Baeksansu is water that has been naturally purified over approximately 40 years as it flows through 45 kilometers of volcanic rock layers from Baekdusan’s Cheonji Lake to the Naeducheon spring. To this, Nongshim has added unmanned smart factory technology that controls the entire production process—from water collection to packaging and logistics—thereby eliminating the possibility of contamination at its source.
A Nongshim official stated, “Winning the Grand Gold award at Monde Selection for four consecutive years is a result of the quality of Baeksansu, created in partnership with the great nature of Baekdusan, being recognized on the global stage. We will continue to develop it into a premium mineral water that consumers not only in Korea but around the world can trust and drink.”
