(LS Electric)
LS Electric Co., an electric power equipment manufacturing unit of South Korea’s LS Group, said on Monday that it has signed a $70 million contract to supply power distribution equipment for a large-scale data center operated by a major U.S. tech company.
With this order, LS Electric will supply key power equipment for core distribution networks, including vacuum circuit breakers (VCBs), to the data center.
VCBs are key protective devices in power grid systems that immediately cut off circuits in the event of abnormalities such as short circuits or overcurrent, preventing equipment damage and large-scale fires.
LS Electric noted that the latest order reflects recognition of its differentiated project execution capabilities in the U.S. power distribution market, including its technological expertise, product quality, and strict compliance with delivery schedules.
Recently, the U.S. market has seen an explosive increase in large-scale investments in data centers and power infrastructure to support the practical expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) services.
LS Electric said it expects to secure additional large-scale orders by capitalizing on this market trend and leveraging its technological competitiveness.
The company plans to strengthen its locally tailored power solutions and expand its market share through aggressive sales activities.
“This contract is the result of securing trust as a major player with both technological competitiveness and brand power in the North American market,” said an LS Electric official. “Based on a series of large-scale order wins, we will further solidify our position as a global leader in the rapidly growing North American power infrastructure market.”
