Kia announced on May 20 that it will support the operation of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ (hereinafter referred to as the FIFA World Cup) through a large-scale vehicle supply as the official mobility partner.
Kia held a vehicle handover ceremony at the LA Stadium in the United States on May 19 (Tuesday, local time) and announced that it will officially support a total of 660 vehicles for the successful operation of the FIFA World Cup, which will begin on June 11 (Thursday, local time) and conclude on July 19 (Sunday).
The vehicles utilized for tournament operations this time include the Carnival, Telluride, Sorento, Sportage, K4, Niro, and Sonet.
In particular, with this World Cup taking place across three North American countries, including the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Kia aims to provide future-oriented mobility solutions led by major vehicles representing its diverse and innovative lineup.
In addition to this official vehicle support, Kia plans to inspire football fans from around the world through various campaigns, including the launch of a FIFA World Cup display theme and the Kia Official Match Ball Carrier (hereinafter OMBC).
The OMBC is one of the core programs of Kia’s FIFA World Cup partnership, a program that selects children to deliver the official match ball to the referee before the start of a World Cup match and enter the pitch together with the players.
Kia President Song Ho-sung said, “It is an honor for Kia to support the FIFA World Cup as the official mobility partner,” and added, “This vehicle support reflects Kia’s commitment to providing innovative and sustainable mobility solutions on the global stage, and we hope it will be an inspiring experience for all participants and fans around the world.”
Meanwhile, Kia has been carrying out various activities as the official mobility partner of FIFA for about 20 years since 2007, and plans to provide innovative mobility solutions at FIFA global tournaments and other events until 2030.
