SEOUL, May 12 (Yonhap) -- SSG Landers slugger Choi Jeong extended his record home run streak Tuesday.

Choi belted a solo home run off KT Wiz starter Matt Sauer during the teams' Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) regular-season game at KT Wiz Park in Suwon, some 30 kilometers south of Seoul. It was his 10th home run of the season and he has now reached double figures in home runs for a record 21st straight season.

Choi is also the KBO's all-time home run leader with 528. Former Samsung Lions star Lee Seung-yuop retired in 2017 with 467 home runs and no one is within 100 home runs of Choi.

Among active players, two Samsung Lions teammates, Choi Hyoung-woo and Kang Min-ho, have hit at least 10 home runs for 18 and 16 consecutive seasons, respectively. Choi entered Tuesday's action with seven home runs while Kang didn't have any for the season.

Choi, who made his KBO debut as an 18-year-old in 2005, has blasted at least 20 home runs in 10 straight seasons, also a KBO record.
