Hyundai Rotem Q1 net income up 29 pct to 202.7 bln won
SEOUL, April 24 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Rotem on Friday reported its first-quarter net income of 202.7 billion won (US$136.7 million), up a sharp 29 percent from a year earlier.
The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 224.2 billion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 202.9 billion won a year ago. Sales spiked 23.9 percent to 1.45 trillion won.
The operating profit was 2.9 percent higher than the average estimate, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. The estimate of net profit was not available.
