Hanwha Ocean Q1 net income up 131.8 pct to 500 bln won
SEOUL, April 27 (Yonhap) -- Hanwha Ocean on Monday reported a first-quarter net income of 500 billion won (US$339.9 million), a surge of 131.8 percent from a year earlier.
The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 441.1 billion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 258.6 billion won a year ago. Sales also rose 2.1 percent to 3.2 trillion won.
The operating profit was 17.0 percent higher than the average estimate, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. The estimate of net profit was not available.
