An

obituary

on Friday about Michael Tilson Thomas, the American conductor, composer and pianist, misstated the venue at which Mr. Thomas took over conducting for the second half of a concert with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in 1969. It was Philharmonic Hall at Lincoln Center (now David Geffen Hall), not Carnegie Hall. (Three days later, he led the orchestra at Carnegie Hall in the full program.) The obituary also referred incorrectly to the Monday Evening Concerts contemporary-music series in Los Angeles. It is an independent organization, not one directly associated with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

ARTS

Because of an editing error, an

article

on April 20 about the appointment of Jenni Parido as commissioner of the United States Pavilion at the 2026 Venice Biennale misstated the timing of events related to pro-Palestinian protests in 2024 and the decision to close the Israeli Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. The pavilion was already closed when the protesters were marching across the city.

OBITUARIES

An

obituary

on Friday about the French actress Nathalie Baye misspelled the last name of the French singer who was Ms. Baye’s companion in the early 1980s. He was Johnny Hallyday, not Halliday.
