▣ About 'Saint-Reol' wines

The 'Saint-Reol' champagne house was founded in 1962 by 58 winemakers with the intention of creating the most outstanding Grand Cru champagne with the best technology. It can be seen as a very good example of business collaboration, which has increased to about 230 people today. The Saint-Léol vineyard is located in the Grand Cru Ambonny region, which is home to famous champagne houses such as Krug, Duval Leroy, Piper Heidsieck, and Pol Roger. Saint-Léol is a winery right next to Krug, so it is known as a winery that has been influenced by Krug to some extent. The vineyard is located on a rather high slope near the Ay vineyard, and produces 79% Pinot Noir and 19% Chardonnay on calcareous soils, and the entire line of champagne is Grand Cru wine. About 2.3 million bottles are aged in the underground cave, which is more than 20 meters tall of St. Leol. Of the 324 champagne producers, 17 can mark AOC. Saint-Leol is one of 17.

Saint-Léol Grand Cru Millesime 2012 was blended with 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, and was rich in ripe fruit flavors such as lemon, ripe apple, peach, and pineapple, and had excellent florals, minerals, and acidity that were sweet like acacia. You can also feel the aromas characteristic of vintage champagne, such as brioche, toasty, and yeast. Even after time, when the bubbles and chilling were not used, it showed a creamy and medium or higher body and a better balance with a more elegant and luxurious feel. At Decanter 2022, he won 94 points and a silver medal. Importer Kana Wine
