Cryptocurrency financial services company Blockchain.com has confidentially filed registration documents with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as it explores plans for a potential public listing in the United States.
The company announced Thursday that it had submitted draft paperwork to regulators, although the number of shares to be offered and the proposed price range have not yet been disclosed. Confidential filings allow companies to begin the SEC review process privately before publicly releasing financial statements and other listing details.
Blockchain.com operates a wide range of crypto-related products, including a digital asset exchange, institutional trading services, lending products and crypto wallet infrastructure. The company previously explored going public through a merger with a special purpose acquisition company before shifting back toward a traditional IPO process.
Several major crypto companies, including Kraken parent company Payward, Consensys and Ledger, have reportedly delayed or paused IPO plans while waiting for stronger investor demand and improved market stability across the broader cryptocurrency sector.
