[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 대한민국 우주항공·방위산업의 미래를 선보이는 ‘2026 사천에어쇼’가 오는 10월 22일부터 25일까지 4일간 사천비행장과 사천시 일원에서 열린다.
이번 행사는 대한민국 공군과 경상남도, 사천시, 한국항공우주산업(KAI)이 공동 주최한다. 우주항공청 개청과 연계해 사천을 국내 대표 우주항공 중심도시로 육성한다는 목표다.
행사에서는 국산 초음속 전투기 KF-21과 고등훈련기 T-50 시범비행 및 무장 전시가 진행된다. 대한민국 공군 특수비행팀 블랙이글스의 에어쇼와 해외 초청 비행팀 공연도 예정돼 있다.
올해는 ‘우주항공방위산업전’이 통합 개최되면서 산업 박람회 기능도 강화된다. 한국우주항공산업협회 주도로 서울 ADEX의 기업 간 거래(BtoB) 프로그램이 도입되며, 29개국 공군참모총장과 해외 방산기업 바이어 20여 개사가 초청될 예정이다.
행사장에는 6,050㎡ 규모 전시관 2동과 850㎡ 규모 수출상담장이 마련된다. 국내외 100여 개 기업이 참가해 전시와 수출 상담, 컨퍼런스를 진행한다.
이와 함께 세계 공군지휘관 회의와 국제우주항공컨퍼런스, 국산항공기 기술협력회의(K-TCG/SMG) 등 국제행사도 함께 열린다. 대한무역투자진흥공사(KOTRA)와 협업한 해외 방산기업 바이어 초청도 추진된다.
사천시는 지역 상권 활성화를 위해 야간 문화행사를 연계한 체류형 축제 운영에도 나선다.
청소년 대상 우주항공 교육 프로그램도 확대된다. ‘GNU 로켓피치 경진대회’와 우주항공 분야 특강이 새로 마련되며, 24일에는 사천체육관에서 ‘제4회 사천우주항공교육축전’이 열린다.
