[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 함양군이 인구감소 위기 대응과 지역 지속가능 발전 방안을 논의하기 위해 인구감소지역대응위원회를 열었다.

함양군은 23일 군청 소회의실에서 양상호 부군수를 비롯해 노인·여성·청년·산업·일자리·보육·출산·의료 등 분야별 민간 전문가 10여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘2026년 제1회 인구감소지역대응위원회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 위원회는 「인구감소지역 지원 특별법」에 따라 구성된 기구로, 인구 감소 대응 기본계획과 시행계획 심의, 인구 유입 및 유출 방지 정책 자문 등의 역할을 맡고 있다.

이날 회의에서는 2022~2026년 지방소멸대응기금 사업 추진 현황과 2027년 투자계획 수립 현황이 보고됐으며, 투자계획 우선순위 결정과 2026년 시행계획(안), 2025년 성과보고(안) 등이 심의됐다.

위원들은 정주여건 개선과 일자리 창출, 청년층 유입 확대 등 인구감소 대응을 위한 다양한 정책 방향을 제시했다.

함양군은 이날 논의된 의견을 2027년 지방소멸대응기금 투자계획에 적극 반영해 실효성 있는 인구정책을 추진할 방침이다.

양상호 부군수는 “인구감소 문제는 지역의 미래와 직결되는 핵심 과제”라며 “위원회 의견을 군정에 반영해 지속가능한 함양을 만들어 가겠다”고 말했다.
