한국보건산업진흥원 과제 선정… 2년 6개월간 총 15억원 지원
글로벌 임상개발 전문가 영입 기반으로 유럽·미국 임상 본격화
저분자 신약개발 전문기업 큐어버스가 글로벌 임상개발 역량 강화에 속도를 낸다.
큐어버스는 한국보건산업진흥원이 주관하는 ‘2026 최고급 해외인재 유치(바이오)’ 과제에 선정됐다고 밝혔다. 회사는 향후 2년 6개월간 총 15억원 규모의 지원을 받게 된다.
이번 사업은 국내 바이오헬스 기업이 글로벌 수준의 연구·개발 인재를 유치하고 연구개발 실행 체계를 강화할 수 있도록 지원하는 프로그램이다. 선정 기업에는 해외 우수 인재 인건비와 프로젝트 운영비 등이 지원된다.
큐어버스는 지난 2월 글로벌 임상개발 경험을 보유한 알렉스 오(Alex Oh) 박사를 임상개발총괄(CDO)로 영입한 바 있다. 회사는 이번 과제 선정을 계기로 글로벌 임상 전략 수립과 운영 체계를 본격적으로 내재화할 계획이다.

현재 큐어버스는 CV-01의 국내 임상 1상 마무리 단계에 있으며, 이후 유럽 글로벌 임상과 CV-02의 미국 임상을 병행 추진하고 있다. 회사는 앞으로 복수의 임상 과제를 동시에 운영·관리하는 단계에 진입할 것으로 보고 있다.
이를 위해 글로벌 임상 전략 수립, 규제 대응, CRO 및 외부 임상기관 관리, 임상 데이터 품질 관리 등 핵심 실행 역량을 강화하고 후속 임상개발과 글로벌 기술이전 기반을 체계적으로 구축한다는 방침이다.
조성진 큐어버스 대표는 “주요 파이프라인의 임상 단계 진입에 맞춰 글로벌 임상개발 전략과 운영 체계를 강화하고 있다”며 “이번 과제 선정이 CV-01과 CV-02 등 임상 단계 파이프라인의 개발 전략과 실행 체계를 고도화하는 데 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
한편 큐어버스는 서울홍릉 강소특구 대표 연구소기업으로, 2022년 GRaND-K 창업학교 최우수상을 수상한 바 있다. 이후 특구 R&BD 사업과 홍릉춘천 벤처지원플랫폼(HC-VIP) 등을 통해 연구개발과 사업화 기반을 확대해왔다.

Cureverse Sets Out to Strengthen Global Clinical Capabilities… Selects 'Attracting Top-Tier Overseas Talent' as a Task
Cureverse, a company specializing in the development of small molecule new drugs, is accelerating the strengthening of its global clinical development capabilities.
Cureverse announced that it has been selected for the '2026 Attracting Top-Tier Overseas Talent (Bio)' project organized by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute. The company will receive support totaling 1.5 billion won over the next two and a half years.
This project is a program designed to support domestic biohealth companies in attracting global-level R&D talent and strengthening their R&D execution systems. Selected companies will receive support for personnel costs for outstanding overseas talent and project operating expenses.
In February, Cureverse recruited Dr. Alex Oh, who possesses global clinical development experience, as Chief Clinical Officer (CDO). With the selection of this project, the company plans to fully internalize the establishment of global clinical strategies and operational systems.

Currently, Cureverse is in the final stages of completing Phase 1 clinical trials in Korea for CV-01, and is subsequently pursuing global clinical trials in Europe and clinical trials for CV-02 in the United States in parallel. The company anticipates entering a phase where it operates and manages multiple clinical trials simultaneously.
To this end, the plan is to strengthen core execution capabilities, such as establishing global clinical strategies, regulatory compliance, managing CROs and external clinical institutions, and clinical data quality management, and to systematically build a foundation for subsequent clinical development and global technology transfer.
"We are strengthening our global clinical development strategy and operational system in line with the entry of our major pipelines into the clinical phase," said Cho Seong-jin, CEO of Cureverse. "We expect this project selection to be of great help in advancing the development strategy and execution system for our clinical-stage pipelines, such as CV-01 and CV-02."
Meanwhile, Cureverse is a representative research institute company in the Seoul Hongneung Small and Medium Enterprise Special Zone and won the top prize at the 2022 GRaND-K Startup School. Since then, it has expanded its research and development and commercialization base through the Special Zone R&BD project and the Hongneung-Chuncheon Venture Support Platform (HC-VIP).

今回の事業は、国内バイオヘルス企業がグローバル水準の研究・開発人材を誘致し、研究開発実行体系を強化できるように支援するプログラムだ。選定企業には海外優秀人材人件費とプロジェクト運営費などが支援される。

このため、グローバル臨床戦略の樹立、規制対応、CRO及び外部臨床機関管理、臨床データ品質管理などの核心実行能力を強化し、後続の臨床開発とグローバル技術移転基盤を体系的に構築する方針だ。

一方、キュアバスはソウル洪陵江蘇特区代表研究所企業で、2022年GRaND-K創業学校最優秀賞を受賞した。以後、特区R&BD事業と洪陵春川ベンチャー支援プラットフォーム(HC-VIP)などを通じて研究開発と事業化基盤を拡大してきた。

Cureverse a annoncé avoir été sélectionnée pour le projet « Attirer les meilleurs talents étrangers (bio) 2026 » organisé par l’Institut coréen de développement de l’industrie de la santé. L’entreprise bénéficiera d’un soutien financier total de 1,5 milliard de wons sur les deux prochaines années et demie.
Ce projet est un programme visant à aider les entreprises nationales du secteur des biotechnologies et de la santé à attirer des talents de niveau international en recherche et développement et à renforcer leurs systèmes d'exécution en matière de R&D. Les entreprises sélectionnées bénéficieront d'une aide pour couvrir les frais de personnel liés aux talents étrangers exceptionnels et les frais de fonctionnement des projets.
En février, Cureverse a recruté le Dr Alex Oh, fort d'une expérience internationale en développement clinique, au poste de directeur clinique (CDO). Avec ce recrutement, l'entreprise prévoit d'internaliser pleinement la mise en place de ses stratégies cliniques et de ses systèmes opérationnels à l'échelle mondiale.

Cureverse finalise actuellement la phase 1 des essais cliniques de son vaccin CV-01 en Corée et mène en parallèle des essais cliniques internationaux en Europe et des essais cliniques de son vaccin CV-02 aux États-Unis. L'entreprise prévoit d'entamer une phase de gestion simultanée de plusieurs essais cliniques.
À cette fin, le plan consiste à renforcer les capacités d'exécution essentielles, telles que l'établissement de stratégies cliniques mondiales, la conformité réglementaire, la gestion des CRO et des institutions cliniques externes, et la gestion de la qualité des données cliniques, et à jeter systématiquement les bases du développement clinique ultérieur et du transfert de technologie mondial.
« Nous renforçons notre stratégie et notre système opérationnel de développement clinique à l’échelle mondiale, parallèlement à l’entrée en phase clinique de nos principaux projets en développement », a déclaré Cho Seong-jin, PDG de Cureverse. « Nous espérons que cette sélection de projets contribuera grandement à l’avancement de notre stratégie de développement et de notre système d’exécution pour nos projets en phase clinique, tels que CV-01 et CV-02. »
Parallèlement, Cureverse, entreprise phare de la zone spéciale pour les PME de Hongneung à Séoul, a remporté le premier prix du concours GRaND-K Startup School en 2022. Depuis, elle a étendu ses activités de recherche et développement ainsi que ses activités de commercialisation grâce au projet R&D de la zone spéciale et à la plateforme de soutien aux entreprises Hongneung-Chuncheon (HC-VIP).
