Chungbuk Office of Education Operates 1:1 College Admissions Consulting and University-Specific Counseling for Students and Parents

Opening of ‘Onjisungsil Chungbuk Education 2027 College Admissions Fair’

The ‘Onjisungsil Chungbuk Education 2027 College Admissions Fair,’ hosted and organized by the Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education, has opened at the Seokwoo Culture and Sports Center of Cheongju University. This two-day event is designed to strengthen customized college admissions support centered on public education and to provide accurate and diverse information on college admissions to students and parents.

To enable personalized college admissions counseling for each student, the event saw the large-scale participation of over 100 universities nationwide, as well as junior colleges in the Chungcheong region, the Admissions Support Center of the Korean Association of Colleges and Universities, and the Korea Scholarship Foundation. The fair provides a wide range of information necessary for college preparation, including university-specific counseling, scholarship systems, university life, and admissions support services. Additionally, approximately 60 shuttle buses were operated to facilitate participation for students from areas outside of Cheongju. With the opening, students and parents flocked to the venue to receive counseling from individual universities. At the university booths, admissions officers provided information on admission procedures, application guidelines, and previous year's admission results while conducting consultations with participants. Students had the opportunity to consult directly with admissions officers from their universities of interest, resolve their questions, and design specific application strategies tailored to their needs.

In a separate area within the venue, personalized one-on-one college admissions counseling was also conducted, featuring 30 counselors from the Chungbuk Provincial Office of Education's College Admissions Support Team. Based on the students' school records and mock test scores, the counselors presented individual college admission strategies and provided customized counseling, including guidance on finalizing the Comprehensive Student Record Screening, interview preparation, and CSAT study methods. This counseling session garnered such high interest that pre-registration closed within just one minute of opening, and on-site counseling was also conducted with enthusiastic participation from attendees. Superintendent Yoon Gun-young emphasized that entering university is not merely about determining a career path based on grades, but rather a process of reflecting on one's journey of growth to ask oneself what kind of learning to pursue and what kind of life to lead, and finding the answers. He added that he hopes this fair will be a meaningful time for students to obtain the information necessary for college admissions, reaffirm their strengths and potential, and design their future career paths in more detail.
