【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도교육청이 미국 현지 교육기관과 힘을 모아 글로벌 한국어교육 기반을 확충하고 국제교육 협력 네트워크를 대폭 강화한다.
충청북도교육청은 미국 시카고 대한민국총영사관에서 시카고한국교육원과 한국어교육 기반의 국제교육 협력 강화를 목적으로 한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약은 전 세계적으로 높아지는 한국어교육 수요에 발맞추고 지속 가능한 국제교육 협력 체계를 다지기 위해 마련됐다. 협약에 따라 양 기관은 한국어교육 기반 국제교류 활성화를 비롯해 교육자료 교류, 교육 프로그램 공동 개발, 교원 역량 강화 등 다방면에서 긴밀히 협력해 나가기로 했다.
협약 체결과 함께 충청북도교육청은 초·중등 교사와 교육청 관계자 등으로 구성된 수업컨설팅단을 파견해 시카고 현지에서 교육 협력 활동을 적극적으로 펼친다. 컨설팅단은 미국 중서부 지역 초·중·고 한국어 교사들을 대상으로 한국어 교수법과 에듀테크를 활용한 수업 사례를 공유하고 현장 중심의 맞춤형 컨설팅을 진행한다.
이와 함께 컨설팅단은 시카고대학교 동아시아언어문명학과 교수진과 만나 다각적인 교육 협력 방안을 논의하는 한편, 현지 대학과 도서관, 문화기관 등을 견학하며 해외 한국어교육과 다문화교육 사례를 수집해 충북 교육 현장에 도입할 방침이다.
충청북도교육청 관계자는 이번 협약이 충북교육의 우수한 교육 역량과 노하우를 세계와 공유하는 뜻깊은 첫걸음이라 평하며, 앞으로도 한국어교육을 매개로 해외 다양한 기관과의 협력을 확장해 세계와 함께 성장하는 충북교육을 완성하겠다고 강조했다.
