The Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education is launching practice-oriented training utilizing the summer vacation period to enhance the self-protection capabilities of school staff and strengthen their ability to respond to unexpected crisis situations in schools.
The Chungbuk Office of Education is conducting the "2026 Training on Responding to Unexpected In-School Crises and Self-Protection" for crisis response teams at kindergartens, elementary, middle, high, and special schools, as well as school safety staff at Office of Education Support. This training is an expanded and improved version of the "on-site training" conducted last month, consisting of a four-hour course focused on practical exercises.
The training will be held a total of four times at the Cheongju Office of Education Support Building No. 2 and the Chungju Office of Education Support. The curriculum is structured with specific action guidelines that can be immediately applied in the field, covering the types and characteristics of unexpected in-school crises, legal standards for safety response, practical exercises on initial response and safety securing methods, and self-protection response exercises for various situations. The Chungbuk Provincial Office of Education has been building a safety system both inside and outside schools by distributing self-developed crisis response materials, such as manuals for responding to knife attacks, training scenarios, and educational videos. The Office plans to continue supplementing effective response materials and providing customized support for schools.
The Head of the Physical Education, Health, and Safety Division at the Chungbuk Provincial Office of Education stated that school safety can be made more robust when the safety of school staff is also guaranteed, and expressed hope that this training would be of practical help to staff in protecting themselves and ensuring the safety of students in unexpected crisis situations.
