Chungbuk Office of Education Accelerates Creation of Safe Educational Environment through Joint Inspection by Four Departments
Ahead of the start of the second semester, the Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education has launched a preemptive inspection of internal and external threats to create a safe school environment.
The Chungbuk Office of Education announced on the 12th that it conducted a comprehensive joint inspection of school safety for the third quarter of 2026 in preparation for the start of the second semester. This inspection was carried out to establish an educational environment where both students and faculty can feel secure by thoroughly examining the safety management status of schools before the semester begins and identifying and improving risk factors in advance.
On this day, a joint inspection team composed of four relevant departments—the Physical Education, Health and Safety Division, the Labor-Management Policy Division, the Administration Division, and the Educational Facilities Division—visited three schools in succession: Donggwang Elementary School and Bodeok Middle School in Boeun, and Chungbuk Industrial Science High School in Okcheon. The inspection team conducted a multifaceted review of overall safety both inside and outside the school, ranging from school transportation safety management to fine dust, air purification devices, and drinking water management, industrial safety, school bus operations, safety of school facilities, safety of construction sites inside and outside the school, and fire prevention in dormitories.
In particular, in preparation for summer heatwaves and high temperatures, the team closely examined the operation of in-school air conditioners, compliance with heatstroke prevention guidelines, and crisis response systems to ensure smooth class operations once the semester begins. Minor issues discovered during the inspection were corrected immediately on-site, while matters requiring budget support or professional improvement will be addressed in stages through consultation with the relevant Office of Education and departments.
Kim Yong-in, Head of the Physical Education, Health, and Safety Division at the Chungbuk Provincial Office of Education, emphasized that identifying and addressing risk factors in schools in advance is of paramount importance ahead of the start of the second semester. He further stated that the office will continue to implement field-oriented safety inspections and effective preventive measures to ensure that students and faculty can focus on their studies and educational activities with peace of mind.
