[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 창녕군은 지난 26일 경화회관에서 영원무역과 '지방 살리기 상생 자매결연 업무협약'을 체결하고 지역 상생과 경제 활성화를 위한 협력에 나섰다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약은 인구감소지역과 기업 등이 자매결연을 맺어 지역 발전을 지원하는 정부의 지방 살리기 정책에 따라 추진됐다.

협약에 따라 창녕군은 지역 특산품과 문화·관광, 숙박 등 지역 정보를 제공하고, 영원무역은 기업 행사 개최와 직원 방문, 지역 농·특산물 구매, 고향사랑기부 참여 및 홍보 등을 통해 지역경제 활성화에 협력하기로 했다.

협약식에서는 지난 4월 창녕군민의 날 기념식에 참석하지 못했던 성기학 영원무역 회장에게 창녕군민대상이 전달됐다.

성기학 회장은 최근 산림 보전과 생물다양성 보호에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 방글라데시의 환경 분야 권위 있는 상인 '국가식목상'을 수상한 바 있다.

성낙인 창녕군수는 "향우 기업과의 상생 협력을 계기로 지역경제에 실질적인 활력을 불어넣을 수 있도록 협력사업을 지속 확대해 나가겠다"고 말했다.
