토친회는 ‘흙 토(土)’, ‘친할 친(親)’, ‘모일 회(會)’의 뜻을 담아 1989년 7월 창립된 단체로, 광혜원이 고향이거나 광혜원 소재 초·중·고등학교 중 한 곳 이상을 졸업한 주민들로 구성된 지역 기반 봉사단체다.
이번 활동은 광혜원면 일원에서 진행됐으며, 회원 20명이 참여해 도로변과 하천 주변의 쓰레기 수거 등 환경정비 활동을 펼쳤다.
토친회는 쾌적한 생활환경 조성과 지역사회 환경 보호 실천을 위해 정기적으로 환경정화 활동을 이어오고 있으며, 이번 활동 역시 깨끗한 지역 환경 조성에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
