Applications accepted until the 15th… Targeting digitally vulnerable groups such as the elderly and literacy learners - Operating practical, real-life customized courses including AI utilization, distinguishing false information, and smartphone training
(Muan = Break News) Reporter Lee Hak-su = Customized on-site education for Jeonnam residents, including the elderly and literacy learners who struggle with using digital devices, is set to begin in earnest.
The Jeonnam Institute for Lifelong Education announced that it is recruiting operating organizations for the ‘2026 Visiting AI & Digital Media Literacy Classes’ until the 15th to strengthen residents’ digital literacy skills in their daily lives.
This project was established to enhance the information utilization capabilities of digitally vulnerable groups who are experiencing information exclusion amidst rapid digital transformation. Selected organizations will visit residents' living locations, such as literacy education institutions in each city and county, welfare centers, and village halls, to conduct education from July to December.
The curriculum consists of five subjects that can be immediately applied to real life. Specifically, they include: understanding and utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI); understanding digital media and distinguishing false information; personal information protection and cybersecurity; using smartphone cameras; and filming YouTube videos.
In particular, this year is characterized by significantly enhanced professionalism and quality in the education. The Agency plans to recruit instructors separately, put them through a systematic training process, and then match and dispatch them to specific regions. Furthermore, all training will combine theory and practice, and the agency intends to maximize learning effectiveness by providing textbooks and learning kits free of charge.
Eligible applicants are cities, counties, and institutions within Jeonnam Province that wish to operate the training. Applications can be made by securing at least five learners, and institutions that have not previously offered literacy education, as well as senior centers and village halls, are free to participate. Applications can be submitted via the email address of the relevant department in the city or county or the 담당자 (person in charge) at the Jeonnam Human Resources and Lifelong Education Promotion Agency.
