전남광주경자청은 산업통상자원부가 주관한 ‘2025년 전국 경제자유구역 성과평가’에서 최고 등급인 ‘S등급’을 획득했다고 13일 밝혔다.
산업통상자원부는 매년 전국 경제자유구역을 대상으로 ▲경영관리 ▲사업성과 ▲미래생태계 구축 등 3개 부문을 종합적으로 평가해 우수기관을 선정하고 있다. 전남광주경자청은 이번 평가에서 전략적인 투자유치와 현장 중심의 규제 혁신, 효율적인 재정 및 조직 운영 등 전 분야에서 고르게 높은 점수를 받으며 최우수 기관으로 우뚝 섰다.
특히 정부의 국정과제와 광주광역시의 5대 신산업 방향에 맞춘 ‘인공지능(AI) 기반 융복합 신산업 허브’ 비전이 빛을 발했다. 전남광주경자청은 지역 핵심 산업인 인공지능(AI)·미래차·에너지 분야를 선점하고, 국내외 선도기업(앵커기업)을 적극적으로 유치해 지역 공급망과 산업 기반시설을 대폭 고도화하는 등 관련 산업의 집적화를 성공적으로 이끌었다는 평을 받았다.
체계적인 사업 관리와 예산 운영 능력도 돋보였다. 개발사업 비용을 적기에 조달하는 한편, ‘광주AI융복합지구 지식산업센터 건립’ 등 주요 국비 집행률을 높이고 지방비 매칭 등 재정관리를 강화해 내실 있는 사업 운영 기반을 다졌다.
