[Break News Gyeonggi South = Reporter Lee Hyun-jun, Osan] On the occasion of International Family Day on the 15th, Osan City announced its major support policies currently being pursued to foster stable family formation and create a favorable environment for childbirth among its citizens.

To alleviate the economic burden on citizens throughout the process from pregnancy to early child-rearing, the city has significantly expanded the eligibility criteria for childbirth incentives starting this year and is implementing various customized support programs.

The most notable change is the increase in childbirth incentives. For children born after 2026, the support amount has been drastically raised: from the existing 200,000 won to 1 million won for the first child, and from 500,000 won to 2 million won for the second child.

The existing support system of 3 million won and 6 million won for the third child and fourth child or more will be maintained. In addition, various cash-based support, such as "first meeting vouchers," postpartum care expenses, and parental benefits, will be provided in parallel. In addition, a year-round program is implemented to support the healthy delivery of high-risk pregnant women by providing up to 300,000 won in support for prenatal screening and medical expenses for pregnant women aged 35 and older.

This comprehensive support system goes beyond mere one-time subsidies and, when combined with continuous child-rearing infrastructure such as parental benefits and child allowances, has the effect of improving the living conditions of the city.
