영동군은 25일 학산면 봉소리 일원에 조성된 알천터 스마트팜 단지에서 알천터 스마트팜 개장 행사를 열고 본격적인 운용에 들어갔다. 이날 행사에는 정영철 영동군수와 김오봉 영동군의회 의장, 충청북도 및 도의회 관계자, 농정 당국 및 대학 스마트팜학과 관계자 등 20여 명이 참석해 스마트팜의 개장을 축하했다.
개장식은 그간의 사업 추진 경과보고를 시작으로 시설 내부 관람과 토마토 모종 식재 행사 순으로 진행됐다. 참석자들은 단지 내 주요 시설을 살피며 정보통신기술을 활용한 환경 제어 시스템 등 현장에 적용된 스마트농업 기술을 직접 점검하고, 스마트팜이 가져올 지역 농업의 미래 발전 방향을 다각도로 논의했다.
