Buan-gun, Jeollabuk-do, is attracting tourists' attention by transforming the idle site next to Buan Nue Town, Byeonsan-myeon into an ecological garden called "Bee Planet," which was created with donations from hometown love.
As part of the Hometown Love Fund's ESG environmental project, "Please Protect Wild Bee Boong" project, the county planted flower poppies on a 99,173㎡ (30,000 pyeong) site in Mapo-ri, Byeonsan-myeon to create a non-planet garden.
In particular, with the recent blooming of red flower poppies, the space that used to be a wasteland has been transformed into an ecological garden where "bees and flowers" coexist, making it spectacular.
The flower poppy colony is helping to restore biodiversity by expanding the food source of wild bees and honeybees as well as creating landscapes.
In the future, the county also plans to create a "Bee Hotel," a wild bee habitat in the garden, to promote environmental conservation and tourism activation together, and to expand environmental education and experience programs.
A county official said, "The hometown love donation is reviving the local environment and leading to new tourism resources," adding, "I hope many tourists will visit the flower poppy-bloomed B-Planet garden and enjoy the nature of Buan."
