[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 박완수 경남도지사가 낙동강 녹조 발생 현장을 찾아 수질 관리와 정수처리 상황을 점검하며 도민 먹는 물 안전 확보를 강조했다.
박 지사는 12일 창녕함안보와 창원 칠서취수장을 방문해 녹조 발생 현황과 대응 태세를 점검하고 관계기관에 철저한 수돗물 안전관리를 주문했다.
이번 현장 점검은 지난 8일 낙동강 조류경보 지점인 칠서와 물금·매리 구간에 ‘관심’ 단계가 발령된 데 따른 것이다. 현장에는 성낙인 창녕군수와 경남도, 한국수자원공사, 낙동강유역환경청 관계자 등이 함께했다.
박 지사는 창녕함안보에서 녹조 대응 상황을 확인한 뒤 칠서취수장을 찾아 취수장 운영과 정수처리 공정 관리 실태를 점검했다.
특히 “녹조 상황에서도 도민이 안심하고 수돗물을 이용할 수 있도록 정수처리 공정을 철저히 관리해야 한다”며 “경보 단계가 높아질 경우 댐·보 연계 운영과 녹조제거선 투입 등 추가 대응도 신속히 추진해야 한다”고 밝혔다.
경남도는 현재 조류경보 발령에 따라 수질오염원 관리와 취수장·정수장 운영 강화를 중심으로 대응 체계를 가동하고 있다.
도는 자체 녹조 대응 행동요령에 따라 폐수 배출시설, 가축분뇨 처리시설, 개인오수처리시설 등 주요 오염원을 대상으로 특별점검을 실시하고 있다.
또 취수장에는 조류차단막과 살수시설, 수면폭기장치 등을 운영해 녹조 유입을 최소화하고 있으며, 정수장에서는 활성탄과 오존을 활용한 고도정수처리시설을 가동하고 있다.
아울러 조류독소와 냄새물질 검사를 법정 기준보다 강화해 실시하고 있으며, 현재까지 정수 처리된 수돗물에서는 조류독소가 검출되지 않은 것으로 확인됐다.
경남도는 여름철 녹조 확산 가능성에 대비해 수질오염원 관리와 정수시설 운영을 지속 강화하고 관계기관과 협력해 도민에게 안전한 수돗물을 공급한다는 방침이다.
