[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 밀양시는 27일 밀양교육지원청과 예림초 학교복합시설 사업 추진을 위한 기본협약을 체결했다.
이번 협약은 안병구 밀양시장과 박정화 밀양교육지원청 교육장이 참석한 가운데, 교육과 지역사회가 상생 발전할 수 있는 협력 기반을 마련하기 위해 추진됐다.
이번 사업은 예림초등학교 부지 내에 어린이 수영장, 돌봄 센터 등 교육·문화·복지 기능이 어우러진 다목적 시설을 조성하는 것이 핵심이다.
예림초 학생들의 교육활동 지원은 물론, 지역 주민이 함께 이용할 수 있는 생활 밀착형 공간으로 활용되어 정주 여건 개선에도 기여할 것으로 전망된다.
양 기관은 이번 협약에 따라 사업 추진을 위한 여건 조성, 정보 공유, 사업 계획 수립, 부지 활용 등 다방면에서 긴밀하게 협력하기로 했다.
또한, 실무 중심의 추진협의체를 구성해 사업 방향 설정부터 기능 배치, 주민 활용성, 학생 안전성 확보까지 전 과정을 면밀히 점검할 계획이다.
밀양시 관계자는 “예림초 학교복합시설 사업은 학교와 지역사회가 공간을 공유하고 가치를 함께 키워가는 대표적인 협력 모델이 될 것”이라며 “앞으로 밀양교육지원청과 긴밀히 협력해 학생과 지역 주민 모두가 만족할 수 있는 복합 공간 조성에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
