[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 경남 밀양시가 야간 문화유산 행사를 통해 체류형 관광 전환 가능성을 확인했다.
밀양시는 지난 24일부터 26일까지 영남루와 밀양관아, 밀양강 일원에서 열린 ‘2026 밀양국가유산 야행’을 마무리했다고 밝혔다.
올해로 7회째를 맞은 이번 행사는 기존 관람 중심 행사에서 벗어나 체류를 유도하는 구조로 운영된 것이 특징이다.
행사는 ‘8야(夜)’ 테마 아래 야경·공연·체험·미식을 결합해 야간 시간대 소비와 이동을 분산시키는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
특히 영남루 일대에 집중됐던 관람 동선을 밀양강과 삼문동 둔치 등으로 확장하면서 체류 시간을 늘리는 효과를 노렸다는 분석이다.
핵심 프로그램인 실경 뮤지컬과 꽃불놀이는 수상 연출을 강화해 체류형 콘텐츠로 재구성됐다.
LED 나룻배와 수상 불꽃을 결합한 연출은 단순 볼거리에서 벗어나 야간 체류를 유도하는 장치로 작동했다는 평가다.
또 밀양관아에서 영남루까지 이어진 ‘밀양부사 납시오’ 퍼레이드는 관람객 참여형으로 운영돼 도심 전체를 행사 공간으로 확장했다.
관람객이 이동 동선에 직접 참여하면서 체류 시간이 자연스럽게 늘어나는 구조다.
삼문동 둔치 일원 ‘야행 주막’과 시민·예술인 마켓은 먹거리와 판매 프로그램을 결합해 소비 체류를 유도했다.
시는 이 같은 프로그램이 행사장 인근 상권 유입을 확대하는 데 일정 부분 기여한 것으로 보고 있다.
밀양시 관계자는 “문화유산 중심의 야간 콘텐츠가 체류형 관광으로 확장될 수 있는 가능성을 확인했다”며 “향후 지역 고유 자원을 활용한 야간 프로그램을 지속적으로 확대할 계획”이라고 말했다.
