대한결핵협회(회장 신민석)는 (사)나누며하나되기(이사장 진철스님, 천태종 사회부장)와 더나눔플러스(이사장 임상규)와 함께 지난 4월 21~22일 양일간 캄보디아 시엠립주에서 의료봉사 활동을 펼쳤다.

천태종 사회국장 광일스님은 “부처님의 자비와 나눔의 가르침을 실천하는 것이 시대적 과제”라며 “저소득 해외국가 구호사업을 점진적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
이번 봉사에는 교민들을 대상으로 결핵과, 내과, 산부인과, 정형외과, 피부과, 비뇨기과, 방사선사, 임상병리사 행정 및 의료지원팀 등으로 구성된 20여명 의료봉사단을 파견하여 지역 주민과 교민 400여 명을 대상으로 의료 취약계층 및 생활 취약계층을 위한 따뜻한 나눔 활동을 진행했다.

주 캄보디아 한국대사관도 적극 지원에 나섰다. 시엠립 분관 김성태 총영사는 현장을 방문해 봉사단을 격려하며 감사의 뜻을 전했다.
