대구시선거방송토론위원회는 사전투표일 전날인 28일까지 대구시장과 대구시교육감, 비례대표 대구시의원, 구청장·군수, 국회의원 보궐선거 후보자를 대상으로 후보자토론회 등을 진행한다고 밝혔다.
이번 토론회는 '공직선거법'에 따라 대구시토론위와 각 구·군 선거방송토론위원회가 공동 주관하며, KBS대구방송총국, 대구MBC, TBC를 통해 생중계될 예정이다.
토론회에서는 후보자들의 주요 공약과 정책 방향, 지역 현안 해결 방안, 자질과 역량 등을 검증하는 시간이 마련돼 유권자들의 합리적 판단에 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.
대구시토론위 관계자는 “후보자토론회는 유권자들이 후보자의 정책과 비전을 직접 비교·검증할 수 있는 소중한 기회”라며 “각 선거별 방송 일정을 확인해 반드시 시청한 뒤 소중한 참정권을 행사해 달라”고 당부했다.
방송을 놓친 유권자는 중앙선거방송토론위원회 홈페이지의 ‘후보자토론회 다시보기’ 메뉴와 공식 유튜브 채널을 통해 다시 시청할 수 있다. 대구시토론위는 유권자들이 후보자의 정책과 자질을 충분히 확인한 뒤 투표에 참여해 줄 것을 거듭 강조했다.
