Danyang County is actively pursuing the establishment of an "Inclusive Lifelong Learning City" where all residents, regardless of generation, social class, or disability, can continue their learning in their daily lives.

Recently, Danyang County held the "2026 Danyang County Lifelong Learning Working Council" and the "2026 Danyang County Lifelong Learning City Working Council" consecutively at the Lifelong Learning Center to share key achievements and discuss future development directions.

Stakeholders from lifelong learning agencies, administrative departments, and disability welfare organizations attended the meetings. Attendees reviewed the progress of major projects and agreed to build a sustainable lifelong learning ecosystem where all residents can participate without discrimination.

The Lifelong Learning Working Council reviewed the previous year's operational performance and this year's major project plans, while also gathering opinions for the establishment of the 4th Mid-to-Long-Term Development Plan for the Lifelong Learning City. The Lifelong Learning City Working Council focused on operating customized programs for different types of disabilities and strategies for linking with support projects from Chungcheongbuk-do Province.

**Danyang County Accelerates Creation of an Inclusive Lifelong Learning City** Danyang County is accelerating the expansion of its lifelong learning infrastructure centered on residential areas. It is responding to changing demands by expanding the "3-Meter Direct Learning Center," where residents can learn alongside neighbors in their local neighborhoods, and by operating AI-based education, digital utilization programs, and curriculums linked with local universities. To enhance the quality of education, the county is also strengthening its quality control system, including the introduction of an instructor evaluation system and the establishment of an instructor bank.

In the field of lifelong learning for people with disabilities, the county has invested 51 million won in project funds to operate 14 programs. It is also promoting the "3-Meter Direct Learning Center for the Disabled," where education takes place near residences and welfare facilities to support the independence and social participation of people with disabilities.

Moving forward, Danyang County plans to establish a "Danyang-type Learning Model" that organically links general education with education for people with disabilities by combining its 4th Mid-to-Long-Term Development Plan with the operational system of the Lifelong Learning City for People with Disabilities.

A Danyang County official stated that lifelong learning is a fundamental opportunity that all county residents should enjoy throughout the entire course of their lives, and expressed the county's commitment to creating a sustainable learning city where no one is excluded from learning.
