[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 성년의 날인 18일 김해향교 유림회관에서 ‘제54회 성년의 날 기념행사 및 전통 성년례’를 개최했다.

이번 행사는 김해시가 주최하고 김해향교가 주관했으며, 올해 성년이 된 2007년생 청년 25명과 학부모, 향교 관계자 등 100여 명이 참석했다.

행사는 성인이 되는 청년들이 사회 구성원으로서의 책임과 권리를 되새기고 건강한 시민의식을 갖도록 하기 위해 마련됐다.

행사는 예를 갖춰 인사하는 상읍례를 시작으로 문묘향배와 축사, 성년 결의문 낭독 등이 진행됐으며, 이어 전통 성년례에서는 우리 고유의 성인식을 재현했다.

남자 성년자 12명은 상투를 틀고 관을 씌우는 ‘관례’를, 여자 성년자 13명은 머리를 올려 비녀를 꽂고 족두리를 착용하는 ‘계례’를 각각 치렀다.

청년들은 전통 복식을 갖추고 의식에 참여하며 성인의 의미와 책임을 되새기는 시간을 가졌으며, 행사장은 가족과 참석자들의 축하 속에 엄숙한 분위기 속에서 진행됐다.
