경남경찰청은 지난 30일 경남도청 잔디광장에서 어린이집 원아와 학부모를 대상으로 경찰헬기 소개와 지상탑승 체험행사를 실시했다.
이번 행사는 어린이들이 평소 접하기 어려운 경찰헬기를 직접 보고 체험하며 항공 분야 직업에 대한 이해를 높이기 위해 기획됐다. 행사에는 도청과 경찰청, 김해서부경찰서 어린이집을 비롯해 창원 지역 어린이집 원아와 교사 등 300여 명이 참여했다.
현장에는 최근 취항한 신형 국산 참수리헬기가 전시돼 관심을 모았다. 참가 어린이들은 헬기 구조와 비행 원리에 대한 설명을 듣고 종이모형을 받아보는 체험에 이어 실제 조종석에 앉아보는 시간을 가졌다.
또한 조종사와 정비사에게 직업 과정에 대해 질문하고 비행복과 항공장구를 착용해 보는 등 진로 체험 활동이 함께 진행됐다.
행사장에서는 한국화각협회 작품 전시도 함께 열려 방문객들이 다양한 미술작품을 관람할 수 있도록 했다.
경남경찰청은 이번 행사를 통해 어린이들이 항공 분야에 대한 관심을 높이고 진로 탐색의 기회를 넓힐 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
