SpaceX
SpaceX posted a loss of nearly US$5 billion in 2025 despite generating more than $18.5 billion in revenue, The Information reported, citing sources familiar with the company’s finances.
The reported loss comes as Elon Musk’s space company moves toward a highly anticipated public listing following its confidential filing for a U.S. IPO in March. The company is reportedly seeking a valuation exceeding US$1.75 trillion.
The financial setback includes the impact of xAI, Musk’s artificial intelligence startup, which SpaceX acquired in February. The integration of the AI business appears to have weighed heavily on overall results.
Despite the loss, SpaceX remains the world’s most active launch company and continues to pursue ambitious long-term projects, including making interplanetary travel commercially viable and deploying artificial intelligence data centers in orbit.
The latest figures mark a sharp reversal from the previous year, when the company reportedly generated around $8 billion in profit on revenue estimated between $15 billion and $16 billion.
