SK AX announced on Tuesday the launch of “AXgenticWire Compliance,” an AI-based service designed to help companies review legal risks related to ESG marketing and disclosure content.

According to the company, the service can analyze materials for potential greenwashing issues and provide guidance on possible compliance risks before publication.

As ESG regulations continue to tighten, companies are facing broader scrutiny over advertising claims and sustainability disclosures. Data from the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute showed that the number of greenwashing-related enforcement cases reached 2,528 last year, marking a sharp increase from 2020.

Industry observers say the scope of regulatory oversight has expanded beyond advertisements to include ESG reports, corporate websites, and other public-facing materials as authorities strengthen enforcement of labeling and environmental regulations.

SK AX said the service uses more than 3,400 legal precedents and regulatory review cases to evaluate compliance risks. Users can upload product descriptions, ESG reports, or website addresses, and the system analyzes the content against relevant regulations and past rulings.

The platform categorizes risks into multiple levels. According to the company, content with potential exposure to fines or compensation claims is classified as “clear risk,” while materials with possible administrative issues are categorized as “borderline risk.” The service also suggests alternative wording and additional review points depending on the risk level.

The service is available through SK AX’s ESG management platform “Click ESG,” which provides ESG-related analytics and benchmarking functions for corporate users.

“With ESG-related regulations and oversight continuing to expand, companies are increasingly seeking tools for preemptive compliance reviews,” said Kim Kyung-sung, head of Manufacturing Service Division 2 at SK AX. “We plan to continue upgrading the service by reflecting additional legal and regulatory cases.”
