Samsung Electronics is stepping up its market penetration by commercializing its proprietary artificial intelligence (AI)-based graphics optimization technology for the first time in its mobile application processor (AP), the ‘Exynos 2600.’

According to Samsung Electronics on April 28, the AI graphics optimization software 'Exynos Neural Super Sampling' (ENSS) will be applied for the first time to the Exynos 2600.

ENSS consists of Neural Super Sampling (NSS) which uses AI to reconstruct low-resolution images into high definition, and Neural Frame Generation (NFG) technology, which predictively generates frames.

Through this technology, Samsung Electronics has reduced the computational burden on the graphics processing unit (GPU) while increasing power efficiency, and has realized a clear screen without stuttering even during rapid camera transitions and in complex scenes.

It is also showing results in actual performance indicators. According to recently released benchmark results, the Exynos 2600 recorded approximately 15% higher performance compared to competitors in the graphics performance indicator (Steel Nomad Lite).

In particular, the ‘ray tracing’ performance, which realistically expresses objects by tracking light that is transmitted, refracted, and reflected on them, ranked first on the major GPU benchmark platform ‘Basemark Power Board,’ proving that stable performance can be realized even in high-load gaming environments.

The Exynos 2600 is the world’s first 2-nanometer mobile chip produced using Samsung Foundry’s cutting-edge Gate-All-Around (GAA)-based 2-nanometer (nm, 1nm = 1 billionth of a meter) process, and has been equipped in the flagship smartphone Galaxy S26 standard and plus models.

Samsung Electronics plans to sequentially support ENSS in future products and according to software conditions, in addition to the Exynos 2600.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics is also detailing the roadmap for its successor, the ‘Exynos 2700.’ For the next product, the company plans to further enhance heat management performance by applying a structure that horizontally places the existing mobile AP and DRAM on the same substrate.
